Hidden Origins of Western Music(k)

Wow.. a bit late to be posting a reply to this, I know, but I just wanted to stop in and validate the claim that Pythagoras could hear the sound of the celestial spheres. It's very much a real meditation, a combination of creative visualization with exchanges of chanting and silence.

12 notes in the subdivided octave - seven notes to a scale... seven planets in the hermetic (pythagorean) astrological models. 12 houses of the zodiac during procession of the equinox.

Twelve being the solar number denoting TIME, the circle of fifths is an emblem of one full daily cycle, whereby the 12 major keys denote day time and the 12 relative minor keys represent night time. Thus they are said to be in balance (albeit an idealistic model).

Anyway, Nice blog. Keep up the good work.
